Innovative and highly functional workwear from Munich

For many years, T.ESS GmbH, based in Munich, has stood for the development and sales of innovative, highly functional sports underwear and socks. Based on his years of experience with functional textiles, founder Thomas Essers has decided to create new concepts for selected customers and develop individual workwear articles in Munich. The products T.ESS is bringing to the market stand out thanks to the company’s unique philosophy, which reflects the current zeitgeist: honest, clearly positioned and highly adaptable collections with an individual character.

Against this background, Thomas Essers and his team have developed Fireshelter 11612, a collection of flame-retardant seamless underwear – and with TESS, they have also developed a series of highly functional industrial safety underwear. The company works with the newest technologies and is continually developing and refining ideas and products. The outcomes from this process comply with the high criteria of international standards and certifications and fulfil the quality requirements of professional groups, who, under their fireproof and protective clothing, expect high wearing comfort and reliable functionality at a fair price: our in-house production in Europe makes this possible.

Private Label manufacturer and founder Thomas Essers:

Thomas Essers (born 01.04.1953) worked at W.L. Gore (Gore Tex) from 1988 to 1992, here acquiring significant skills with regards to functional textiles. At the time, functional underwear and technical socks were still in their initial conceptual stages. Initially, Thomas Essers worked together with leading manufacturers of sport and leisure clothing – and was subsequently responsible for central Europe as a director of Thorlo.

In 1995, Essers switched to a job with Falke and, as a sales manager until 2002, shaped the Falke Ergonomic Sport System. A major milestone in his career were left and right socks and the development of “seamless technology” in the area of functional textiles. Since 2002, he has primarily been working on a self-employed basis at his company, T.ESS.

In July 2009, he transferred management of the company to his son, Philipp Essers, and has since been concentrating on new developments of products and yarns, in order to create even more innovative textiles as an experienced Private Label manufacturer. Since 2015, daughter Ann-Kristin Essers has been managing the fields of marketing and development. The newest innovation is the flame-retardant seamless underwear – implemented in a 3D procedure with new duo component knitting technology.

Thanks to our extensive experience, certain primary interests of our customers can be mapped out: price, heat regulation, thermal insulation and fire resistance. Each of these topics is optimally solved for you in TESS’s four product lines
